From the Director’s Desk

I hope everyone enjoyed their longer weekend. Thanks to the Concert Band for being a great pep band at last Friday's football game. The Wind Ensemble had a productive mini camp with composer James Miley reading through a portion of the piece he is composing for us. I really like it!!! I believe the students are too. I can’t wait to premiere it in March.

Two weeks till Championships. I hope you will all be around to support our students these last two weeks before Thanksgiving break.

We will be at this Friday’s football playoff game followed by the WBA Central Regional Championships at Kingsburg HS. - Note: Rehearsal on Saturday morning will be at Buchanan High School in the stadium. Please check westernbands.org for information regarding this weekend and next weekend's competitions. Tickets for these two events are to be purchased online.

"NO EXCUSES!"

Now is the time! This is the time when all of our hard work over the last 15 weeks should come to fruition. It is time for everything to lock in and work together as an entire ensemble. Checkpoints are locked, drill forms locked, drumline playing clean beats, foot timing exact, and transparent sound throughout the entire ensemble. We have 13 days to keep making our field show better. Everyone has something they can fix to elevate their level of performance.

Let’s do it! Leave no doubt about your understanding and exemplary contribution to this program. Remember, consistency is what will show up on the field during a competition. You’re performance level is created during rehearsal and will not magically appear in uniform on the field.

Pie Sale

Today, November 12, is the final day to submit your pie sale orders.

There are a few people who have submitted online orders without making payment. Please make sure you have turned in both your order and your payment. Thank you for your participation in this fundraiser!

Football Parking this Friday

We have been given the ability to collect funds from the parking lot at this Friday’s football playoff game. We need two more parents to collect money from 5pm-7:30pm. Please sign up on CutTime.

WBA CHAMPIONSHIPS

WBA Championships are less than two weeks away. We are getting really close to filling all our volunteer positions. We need 9 more volunteers on Saturday & 8 more volunteers on Sunday to help host the WBA Championships @ Buchanan High School. Sign-ups are available on CutTime.

Winter Concert… CALLING ALL MUSICIANS!!!!

Were you a member of your high school or college band? If so we would love for you to join us in a holiday tradition performing with the Clovis North Wind Ensemble on the last piece of our Winter Concert. The concert is on December 11. We will have a short rehearsal @ 6:30 in the band room. Send an email to davidlesser@cusd.com with the part you would like to play. So far we have 16 friends and family signed up to join us. We have room for many more. Don’t be afraid. It is lots of fun. *You must provide your own wind instrument*

Hello Band Family,

Wow, this season has flown by! Only 2 competitions left! I was so impressed by the amount of Band Family who made the drive to Dublin to support our kiddos. This weekend's competition is much closer, so I'm hoping to see even more Bronco Band supporters in the stands! We will try to get a rooting section going - stay tuned to CutTime on Saturday for more info on where we are sitting.

Today is the last day to place your pie orders. If you are using a paper copy of the order form, please place it and your cash/check (made out to Bronco Foundation) in an envelope clearly marked "Pie Fundraiser" and put it in the black box outside the band office. The black box will be checked after marching band rehearsal tonight. No late orders will be accepted. Pie pickup will be held Friday 11/22 from 4:00-6:00pm.

We are excited to announce that we're having a Holiday Spirit Wear Flash Sale! This sale is online only. We have individual items for sale for $20 each and a bundle pack of all 4 items for $70. These items will make great holiday gifts! Orders are due 11/22 and the items will be in your hands by 12/16. Check out our band website for more details.

As you know by my repeated CutTime messages, we are still in need of volunteers to help staff WBA Championships Saturday 11/23 and Sunday 11/24. We are required to have all of the slots filled by tomorrow 11/13. Please help us out by filling one or more slots. Please don't assume that someone else will sign up - we need you! This is an all-hands-on-deck event. Remember, people who are not on CutTime can sign up to help. Send me a text/email letting me know the person's name and what shift they'd like to sign up for and I will get them signed up. Thank you in advance for filling the remainder of the volunteer slots.
